Name: Lake Huites Lodge
Hottest Baits:  1/2 oz. spinnerbaits, Storm pearl swimbaits, Poppin Image topwater, small crankbaits, 6 inch white Senkos, 4 inch watermelon Senkos, 6 inch watermelon lizards, KUT TAIL worm Yamamoto

Comments: The numbers of bass have been very low, but there are decent sized fish being caught.  In the recent bass fishing tournament, there were 10 bass caught, weighing in at 72 lbs. The patterns are the same, with swimbaits being the best producers.  The weather is HOT - 100 degree high but a cool front is expected in the next day or so.

Hottest Baits: Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater. small crankbaits

Hottest Colors: bone colored topwater, white spinnerbaits, baby bass, storm 6inch swimbaits, storm swim baits in pearl

Date Fished: Feb 10th through Feb 14th

Comments: Jeff Pope's group returning from a fantastic adventure at Lake Huites Lodge, fishing six days.  Even with back-to-back cold fronts, Jeff reports catching between 80 and 120 bass per day. Areas toward the dam are holding the bigger bass. Although Jeff's group struggled to get any real trophies, they did manage and reported several bass 6 to 7 lbs.  Mike Knight's big group had the advantage at the lodge this week - they were lucky enough to corral Manuel Salazar as their guide and reported several fish over 8 lbs. with unbelievable numbers caught during the day.  Five inch swimbaits and five inch Senkos produced the best.  Bass continue to be moving up for the spawn and the catch rates for topwater will only increase for the next two to three weeks.

Hottest Colors: bone colored topwater, white spinnerbaits, baby bass, storm 6inch swimbaits, storm swim baits in pearl

Date Fished: Feb 3rd through Feb 5th

Comments: The very cool mornings have really excited the bass and have made for some really red hot topwater action. Fishing with Pop'rs and spittin images the topwater bite has been very good in the canyons. With the lodge full of clients the last several weeks we have had many happy faces returning from there trips. Most boats catching 70 to 150 bass a day on Lake Huites with many mid size bass caught everyday and someone has been touching the 10 pound mark almost every session. 6 inch Storm Swim baits have produced the bigger fish which have come from a little deeper water. 1/2 oz white spinnerbaits and citrus Shad crankbaits have produced the best numbers.

Comments: We had 1 fish 10.2lbs, we also had 2 fish over 9lbs and 5 over 8lbs and probably 60 or 70 fish over 6lbs. We caught approx 75 to 100 fish per day. Most of the big fish came on crank baits(DD22) and 6" and 7" swim baits in 25 to 30ft of water. This has been our best trip to Mexico bass fishing. The lodge was great and the staff was incredible. All the guides knew the Lake well and put us on fish every day!

Jan 25th once again great action all over the Lake. The aquarium once again is loaded with 4 to 7 pound Bass. Las Cruz area is holding tons of nice bass. White spinnerbaits, white senkos and flukes along with swimbaits 4, 5 and 6 inch. Topwater early in the canyons is making everyone depart early and make the ride towards the canyons.

Hottest Colors: bone colored topwater, white spinnerbaits, baby bass

Comments: We fished from Oct 26th to Nov 1st and had mixed results but overall fishing at Lake Huites is what you would expect ...Lots of action with bass up to 9 pounds Most fish being caught on shallow running Rapala crankbait in Baby Bass color. I fished a couple of afternoons with Tachi and Perla Salazar and had excellent results up the Rio Fuerte way past the reforma. The canyons also produced great numbers of bass on Firetiger crankbaits. I truly think that over the next couple of weeks bass fishing at Huites will go nuts on topwater

Hottest Baits: Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater

Hottest Colors: bone colored topwater, white spinnerbaits

Comments: We fished Lake Huites on the 17th and it looks like the bass fishing will start to improve daily. The numbers of bass caught today are about average - currently lots of timber in the lake. We predict that Lake Huites will be back to normal early next week.......All the bass caught were very fat and sassy. We do have a group of 20 anglers on the 26th of October.

We will cancel this week's group and report on conditions later in the week.  The conditions at Baccarac are much better after the Hurricane On Oct 14th we checked the condition of the lake and Lodge. Fishing was very slow and we will check it again on Friday

Name: Lake Huites Lodge

Hottest Baits: Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater

Hottest Colors: bone colored topwater, white spinnerbaits

Date Fished: Sept pre season fishing

Comments: Bass fishing is excellent. Lake Huites is 105% full, with the two lower lakes, Dominguez and Hidalgo, also full.  This is the perfect recipe for unbelievable bass fishing at Huites this fall.  We have been pre fishing the lake, readying for our first groups in October. As usual, countless numbers of bass. Spinnerbaits around the timber, swimbaits and crankbaits in the canyons. Several fish caught over 7 lbs, all on 6 inch swimbaits. Topwater bass fishing action early yesterday morning amounted to 70 topwater fish caught, from 1 to 4 lbs. Lake Huites should be on fire this Fall!

Comments: We fished last Thurs, thru Sat, the first time I have not stayed with your lodge in the past 6 trips to the lake.  I want to say the accommodations, staff, boats, and food were all first class.  Although the numbers were down from previous trips about 70 to 80 fish a day for our boat, the size of the fish was much better.  Our guide Jesus knew the lake and where the better fish were, and also was a great guy besides.  He also saved some really good holes for the last day, and we caught big fish in all of them.  We had our best fishing in the morning and evening on top water, and Senkos, jigs and lizards any time of the day off the points when the wind blew the fish bit.  We hit one big flat hump 3 days in a row two or three times a day and would see 3 to 7 pound fish cruising looking for Tilapia.  It was one huge dinner table for the fish.  Of the 220 or so fish we caught we had 70 to 80 fish 3.5 to our largest 6.9 and most were 4 to 4.5 clones.  The top water bite the last night before dark was like nothing I have ever seen in 35 years.  We caught 25 fish in the last hour and had 4 to 5 pound fish fighting over your Sammy if was even in the water 5 seconds you would have fish blasting it.  The largest that night was a 6.9.   It was incredible.  Great time I will definitely be back to your lodge.

Comments: Randy Holly reported excellent numbers of Bass in the main lake and not much action in the Canyons....Topwater only good late but the fluke action for fish up to 6 pounds good all day with 6 inch swimbaits good for bass up to 9 pounds in the Taco Paco/Crues area. Lions Cove and The Clear Creek also doing good for shear numbers with some in the group catching fish over 100 per boat We have been catching lots of nice fish but also lots of smaller fish!

Name: Lake Huites Lodge Guest - Mike Knight
Hottest Baits: Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater, SENKOS
Hottest Colors: bone colored topwater, white spinnerbaits, pearl swimbaits
Date Fished: March  14th to March 19th
Comments: Our 1st morning was slow by Huites standards as we adjustments were made for post-spawn fishing. We then started fishing a productive pattern that produced countless fish in the 2.5 to 5 lb range. There were many smaller fish and enough larger fish to keep it interesting. My buddy Ron's largest was an 8 lb and I caught a 10.2 lb. These were huge females who had already spawned.

Morning and evening topwater bite was good for the first and last hour of the day. White flukes and small crankbaits were VERY effective following the morning topwater bite. As the day heated up we fished deeper with large crankbaits, swimbaits and Texas rigged plastic. Senkos and spinnerbaits played a role in rounding out the action.

Lots of action reported by all boats with several 9 pound fish report

Great results with more details very soon. Brain Henning's group caught a 14.0 pound Bass on March 4th at Lake Huites. Fishing for both size and numbers has been excellent. All reports from he lake have been excellent with many boats catching over 200 per day The Lake Huites bass tourny was won by Lake Huites Lodge's Narlin Salazar. A total of 289 fishermen where in tournament at Lake Huites with first prize paying $1700.00 Narlin won total weigh while weighing in a 9.28 pound big bass. Congrats to Narlin

Comments: Wow!  What great fishing - just what Huites is supposed to be all about.  Some days, it's a little slow, but when it's hot, it's red hot!

Aaron Gore with a group of four who flew in Private to Choix called after the trip saying he was skeptical of the reports he had been reading, only to report that the fishing was actually better than the reports and offerred to talk with anybody that wanted the facts about Lake Huites and Lake Huites Lodge. The fishing was just fantastic. some days catching over 200 bass in a day.

Vernon Grizzard's group of four, who flew in in their private jet, on the last day reported excellent results, with multiple 6, 7 and 8s, most on topwater.  And of course, using big Senkos and 6 inch swimbaits.

Gale Goodman's group of ten just reported 10 lbers caught this morning by some in their group, topwater and Senko fishing excellent, all boats catching between 70 and 80 fish per session.
