Kasba Lake Lodge is famous for providing guests access to incredible Triple Trophy fishing - huge Lake Trout, ferocious Northern Pike and the world's biggest Arctic Grayling. Located in Canada's Northwest Territories, a short distance north of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border, Kasba Lake Lodge is a dream come true. Thanks to nature and our long-time catch-and-release policy, you'll catch some of the biggest fish in Canada.

 

Kasba Lake is located in the temperate subarctic of Canada's Northwest Territories, just north of the Manitoba - Saskatchewan border. Kasba Lake is Canada's 28th largest lake spanning 55 by 25 miles. The lake is 150 miles from the nearest road, is accessible only by air, and is fished exclusively by our guests.

 

Kasba Lake 

The Kasba Lake watershed is a productive fresh water ecosystem filled with millions of whitefish, cisco, fresh water shrimp and small aquatics, important links in the aquatic food web. Over 2,000 miles of shoreline, hundreds of islands and reefs, and numerous rivers and streams provide shelter and forage for Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling. In 1975 Kasba Lake Lodge was the first lodge in northern Canada to implement a strict catch and release policy as not to overstress the fishery. That visionary policy has served us well through the years as we continue to enjoy world-class fishing and significant repeat business from our guests.

 

It's little wonder that Northern Pike are such a sought after game fish. Catching these ferocious predators is both challenging and exciting. Shallow, clear water, medium - weight casting and lots of big fish action... now that's fun fishing!

 

Northern Pike

At Kasba Lake Lodge, stories of large trophy pike are fact, not fiction. Fish average 6 to 8 lbs. and every season Kasba anglers land hundreds of giant Northern Pike in the 40"-50" range. The Kasba Lake record currently stands at 54 inches (36 lbs). This is the north woods Northern Pike fishing that you've been dreaming about. Northern Pike are very prolific throughout Kasba Lake and the surrounding watershed and offer great sport all season. During peak season from ice-out through early August, you'll present top - water plugs, spoons, bass spinner baits, Sluggo - type worms and "jerk baits" to concentrations of fish in shallow bays, creeks and rivers.

 

Later in the season Northern Pike will concentrate in the jungles of tall "cabbage" that provide excellent cover in six to twelve feet of water. Casting and trolling big crank baits is an effective means of getting these awesome predators on the line. If there's anything more exciting than seeing a large Northern Pike push a six inch wake towards your lure, let us know. In the mean time bring your camera and plenty of heavy duty line.

 

Fly Out Options

One thing that sets Kasba apart from other lodges is the excellent trophy fishing for all three species right on the main lake. With 1,500 square miles of pristine lake to explore and fish on Kasba Lake there is no reason to fly out, although we do offer several flyout trips. At Kasba, a flyout is an option, not a necessity. We do highly recommend a fly-out to the beautiful Kazan River to fish for Arctic Grayling. Should you wish, other great fly-outs are available. But remember you won't be spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars and scrambling to get on the float plane at Kasba. We offer excellent trophy fishing for all species right on the main lake. There is no need to book flyouts in advance.

 

Kazan River Fly-Out

Fly fishermen and ultra-light enthusiasts love the challenge of the legendary Kazan River and its beautiful Arctic Grayling. And don't be surprised when you catch Northern Pike and Lake trout in the Trophy class as well. For many, time spent on this Canadian Heritage River is the highlight of their trip.

 

Snowbird River Fly-Out 

If your idea of heaven is endless miles of great pike water that will see but a few fishermen all season, the Snowbird River and its many small lakes and bays is the place for you.

 

Bradford Lake Fly-Out
