We offer two packages at Lago Vista - a bass fishing and bird hunting combination during hunting season, and our fishing only package available year round.  Everything is included - transportation, rooms, meals, recreation, guides, boats, and many extras.  Or you can put together your own custom package utilizing those of our services which you desire.  No matter which package you choose, you'll enjoy an exciting, restful vacation with no worries. Lake Guerrero is one of the hottest bass fishing spots on the North American continent.  It is the perfect bass habitat and is excellent for fishing all year. Although the bass average 2 to 4 pounds, guests have taken some real giants. The lake record is currently over 18 pounds.

 

Lago Vista is located near Lake Guerrero in Tamaulipas, Mexico near Ciudad Victoria.  The lodge lies at the north end of the lake, a short drive from the water depending on lake levels. It's the ideal setting for a vacation - far from the cares of the world, yet easily accessible. These are affordable bass fishing and bird hunting packages with comfortable accommodations, boats and experienced guides.

 

Lake Guerrero is 100,000 acres at full pool and has many islands plus two rivers - the Corona and the Purificacion, as well as submerged roads and creek beds which produce trophy bass for our guests. Submerged trees and fence lines also provide staging areas for many of these big fish. Guerrero is full of Tilapia and Shad which are the main forage for the bass. The lake level is up and holding steady. This means great fishing for you. Having personally fished Lake Guerrero for over 10 years now, I can tell you first hand this lake holds some of the biggest largemouth bass you will find in Mexico. While lake levels fluctuate as with all Mexico lakes, many 10lb plus fish are still being caught. Recent biologist reports indicate that the big bass in Guerrero exceed 20 pounds! "We are confident Lake Guerrero will soon produce a 20lb+ giant!"  

 

Commercial flights will bring you to Harlingen or McAllen Texas. We'll meet you there, then drive you down to Lake Guerrero in comfortable air-conditioned vans and suburbans.  If you charter or fly your own plane, Ciudad Victoria has a major airport located a short 45 minutes from the lodge.  For those who prefer to drive, we'll provide directions and current road information.

 

North Tamaulipas offers some of the finest bird hunting in North America.  The rich farm land dotted with small lakes and streams make a perfect migration and feeding grounds for millions of the finest game birds.  From August through February, our area is invaded by whitewing dove, ducks, geese, quail and other challenging game birds.  The concentration of these birds at times can be unbelievable. Hunters, we'll obtain all the necessary hunting license and gun permits in advance. We provide everything for the hunt.  All birds will be cleaned, bagged, and frozen for you to be imported to the United States.  Twelve and twenty gauge shells are available for sale at our camp.  We can also supply guns for all members in your group.  Fishermen, we provide fully-guided fishing.  Just bring along your favorite tackle.  Hard-working hunting guides get you to the game.   (Remember - Mexico is a foreign country.  A valid U.S. passport is now required to obtain a visa.)
